Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving week! Mike and I were lucky to get the entire week off of work to stay at home and relax and to get a head start on our trip to Illinois. I celebrated my 29th and last birthday on Monday and though it was a little early, we decorated our Christmas tree on Tuesday, which was a blast! Benjamin still says, "WOW! Beauuuutiful" when he sees it! On Wednesday we made the car trip down to my Mom and Dad's house for the holiday. On Thursday morning Mike and I woke up early to drive into the city for an 8k Turkey Trot race. It was a blustery and snowy morning, but the race was still enjoyable. While we were out running, Mom, Dad and Benjamin were busy cooking turkey and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. That night we all stuffed ourselves with turkey and other goodies! Benjamin was treated to a special Breakfast with Santa at Macy's on Saturday. It was a very neat event that we will no doubt do again. It was held in a small room with only us and four other families there. Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Nutcracker all came through the room while we were eating to talk to each child individually. This was great because it really gave the kids time to warm up to the man in red before they had to sit on his lap. Benjamin wasn't sure about him at first, but he eventually warmed up to Santa. He climbed right up onto his lap and told him exactly what he wants for Christmas, it was adorable. On our way home on Sunday, we made a stop in LaCrosse to visit the Rotary Holiday Lights Display, which we see every year. They really put together an awesome display this year and we all enjoyed it! Benjamin is still talking about seeing the lights! What an awesome end to a great holiday!!
